Miami Salsa Dance School: The ¡Azúcar! Dance Company

The ¡Azúcar! Dance Company is a non-profit student organization at Florida State University (FSU) with a mission to promote the beauty and richnesss of the Latin culture and its traditions.

¡Azúcar! was founded in 2000 at Florida State University by two Latinos who simply wanted to dance. Little did Carlos Nunez and Angel Hernandez know, that after all these years, and after graduating from college and moving on to different endeavors in their lives, ¡Azúcar! would be alive and thriving. ¡Azúcar!, and the Tallahassee community pay homage to these two young and ambitious entrepreneurs for introducing salsa to Florida's capital.

Their goal is to be active members of the FSU and Tallahassee communities by hosting salsa dance lessons, performing and participating in community service endeavors. Our classes, performances and activities are open and available to the entire Tallahassee community, without regard to age, race, student status or school affiliation. We are committed to helping our members and students realize their goals on the dance floor as well as being stewards of good citizenship in our community.
